Asus provides delivery of 4.5 million Android tablet to the end of 2011
The Asus tablet might become major competitors in a market already crowded, but the chronic lack of stocks has penalized the deliveries of the company regarding the Android tablet as the Eee Pad Transformer. According to Digitimes, the deliveries of the terminal will pass during the summer from 1.2 million to 1.5 million, with further increases expected in the autumn. The idea of Asus is to switch to 4/4.5 million handsets delivered in the last six months of 2011.
Initially the company expected to deliver two million tablet up throughout the year, but it seems that the increase of 51.7% of the revenue of the Pegatron during the month of June are to be attributed to the sales of Asus tablet, much higher than expected. The increase of deliveries probably also includes other new models like the MeMo and the Asus Eee Pad Slider with Android.
Nomura analysts believe that Asus is a competitor in growth next year and might degrade performance of tablet-Motorola and RIM.
