Cameras of the new Redmi K30 Pro: 8K video, 64 MP dual sensor and more

With just a few days until the presentation of the Redmi K30 Pro, we have already been able to gather enough information about what will be the next Redmi star phone for this first half of 2020. We have already been able to take a deep look at its design , and We also know that it will adopt details from the previous Redmi K20 series, such as the inclusion of a “pop-up” front camera.

And speaking of cameras, through a publication by the company itself on Weibo , today we have been able to find out even more details about the photographic section of the device , which undoubtedly promises to be one of the most advanced seen so far on a brand mobile.

Redmi K30 Pro

Four 64-megapixel dual-sensor cameras

As announced by the firm in said publication, the Redmi K30 Pro will be the first phone on the market to have a dual 64-megapixel Sony IMX686 sensor . It is the same main sensor that the POCO X2 has , and presumably the one that will lead the photographic system of the new Huawei P40 series. Apparently, the objective of Xiaomi by equipping its new model with two sensors like these, is to use one of them as the main camera, and the second as a complementary sensor to the “telephoto” to obtain digital zoom of up to 30x magnification, and optical of 3. In any case, systems based on the Pixel Binning concept will be used to group the pixels and thus generate 16 megapixel captures with greater detail and luminosity.

One of the peculiarities of this sensor is its large size of 1 / 1.7 inches, and its ability to capture video at 8K resolution – specifically, at 7680 x 4320 pixels -, probably at a rate of 24 or 30 frames per second. Recording video at such a resolution is also helped by the fact that the terminal will be based on the Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 platform.

Xiaomi also points out that both sensors will be optically stabilized , and a four-axis control system will be used through the information collected by the device’s gyroscope and accelerometer. On the other hand, the inclusion of a third ultra-wide-angle sensor, whose resolution is currently unknown, is reconfirmed.

The company has also taken the opportunity to announce the arrival of the terminal in a color that we have not seen before. This is a silver tone with an orange accent on the phone’s power button. Previously, we had already been able to see the design of the device in two other tones: blue and white.

At this point, there is not much left to know about the new Redmi K30 Pro that Xiaomi will present in China next Tuesday. It will be then when, at last, we discover all the details about its price and availability , and we will know if Xiaomi has decided to succumb to the curse of affordable high-end in 2020, or if on the contrary it is capable of maintaining a relatively reduced price on its new flagship despite the high cost of Qualcomm’s latest flagship processor due to the inclusion of the 5G modem.
