If you ask a photographer why he likes his camera two things can happen. Well you can start up a list of impressive features, or you can teach your photos and say, “Look what I can do it!”
A good camera that meets all the requirements, the user creates the first reaction of those exposed.
However, the second reaction will come from someone who has in his hands a camera that can do more. A camera capable of unlocking their creativity, which is a perfect tool for seeing things in new ways.
The EOS 60D is the second type of camera. It has excellent features, better than most cameras on the market, but users who have not talk about it, but it does show you the images.
This camera is not just a good camera. Camera is a ‘sensational’.
It is difficult to explain the difference between something good and something ‘sensational’ but, in short, the features and functions of the device should be under user control, and not vice versa.
If the options and tools are not clear, hinder the very purpose: the image you want to capture or discover. The camera should offer a wide range of tools, but these must be easy to find and explore.
The EOS 60D begins to win as soon as one has it in his hands. It has a robust manner similar to other digital SLR, but is smaller and lighter than its rivals, with a more streamlined interface.
The camera has a solid rubber grip and a balanced body, so that the firing or other operations are not affected by any jolt or shaking. In fact, the electronic level, you have a location indicator horizons inclined to stop to avoid in your photos.
Your first impressions are also taken aspects of the heritage of the camera. The range goes back to 1987, but is still as new (named after the Greek goddess of dawn), with a strong tradition of usability, while the range of lenses and other accessories are the easiest to understand in the world In order to expand the capabilities of users without causing confusion.
The most distinctive and immediately from the camera is probably its variable-angle LCD screen that can be opened to the opposite side, rotated and tilted up to 270 degrees, allowing the user to find their own angle to use the camera, thus opening new possibilities.
As mentioned, the outcome is in the photos, the EOS 60D is a camera that effortlessly captures the images you want to share and opens the way for ideas to improve or to approach the stage from a different angle.
With a resolution of up to 18 megapixels, you can capture images to poster size, where every detail can be cropped and enlarged. The camera can shoot photos at 5.3 frames per second, making sure you capture every moment.
Most people begin using the device with the automatic-auto and automatic meter-they are a reliable basis for developing intelligent and stunning creativity.
The EOS 60D uses iFCL measurement, a double layer sensor 63 analyzes the data areas of focus, color and luminosity, thus providing an accurate and consistent. At the same time, the autofocus is equipped with a sophisticated sensor that uses 9 cross-type points and phase detection, which allows you to keep track of the image sharper relief, no matter what part of the picture is this.
Put the camera in automatic mode and it will choose the best features, or choose your scene – Portrait, Macro, Sports and Landscape – and you can select using Basic + environment, offering creative control without having knowledge of technology. Take creative control of the area and you can use speeds from 30 to 1/8.000 per second, allowing you to adjust the ISO from 100 to 6,400.
We are particularly impressed by his performance in low light levels. In demanding environments, we were able to capture images of a sunset without the need to use a tripod. The camera has an ISO expandable to 12,800 for situations where there is very little light.
Furthermore, photographers can also give a different feel to their work by applying filters to your images in-camera after the photos have been captured. The camera keeps a copy of the original image and creates a new version with the filter applied. Black and White option with grain gives the appearance of an older image, the Soft Focus retains the color and definition getting a smooth skin tone pictures, the effect Toy Camera adds a dramatic color to the image and the effect Thumbnail adds drama by applying a thin area of focus the image sharpness.
The LCD screen and user interface
The LCD screen is a good example of a device that multiplies the possibilities without being a nuisance. Just the fact of placing the screen at a different angle lets you capture images that could not otherwise take, something that is only possible because the screen is well executed. Is solid and is just the ideal level of stiffness, falling where you placed.
Similarly, the same screen opens up possibilities, inviting you to explore composition and effects on the camera, instead of needing to do this on your computer when you get home. Again, this is only possible because it has the necessary features: the screen has 1,040,000 points with a generous 7.7 inches wide and the camera software includes video and image editing, much easier to use on a screen adaptable.
The rest of the controls are this high, with a perfect balance between functionality and usability.
Many cameras are made by massive features which have to use too many buttons and too many functions on each button, with the result that some of the features end up being unknown and unused.
The EOS 60D includes all these features and despite this, the main buttons, through the small screen mounted on the LCD screen control, presents some simple functions, inviting you to try them, rather than to lose yourself in a complex structure of the menu.
Accessories & Extras
The camera is equipped with a good set of lenses in general – our system was distributed with an EF-S 15-85 mm f/3.5-5.6 IS USM – is that the EOS lenses provide a unique set of options to start exploring new areas of photography. As an example, exquisite detail is captured with a macro lens.
The intelligent flash built into the camera responds well to automatic control, but again, there are other options open as the EOS 60D can use other flash drives, even controlling them wirelessly, making more than a simple flash lighting a creative way to control light. Once again, the technology serves the user and not the other way.
For those looking for more, the camera includes the option to tag images with copyright information in the EXIF standard format. These headers of the images are easy to edit or delete, but the fact of them is a good practice if you want to control the use of your images.
And what if the images are not enough? If you need to capture the image motion that is before you, the EOS 60D can offer you that opportunity in a way as good as that offered on other cameras competent for this function.
The quality of the results surprised us too. The camera captures video at a resolution ranging between 640 x 480p to 1920 x 1080, with a capacity that includes rates of 35, 24 and 25 frames per second.
Anyone interested in video capture cameras know that usually fail to sound themes. But in the EOS 60D is no problem in this regard. A terminal for external stereo microphones, coupled with the ability to adjust the sound recording, ensures that the audio tracks are recorded at the level of visual quality of the video-recording sound with a quality equivalent to that of television broadcasting.
Better yet, this display is hidden under a panel with other ports and jacks, so it does not clog.
Reliability and dependence
The merits of the EOS 60D is shown in the photos and the experience of doing them. But the characteristics are present and, in particular the reliability makes it clear that this is a camera that users saved and used for a sufficient time to grow and learn with it.
The shutter has a duration of 100,000 shots. And the battery life – based on an LP-E6 battery also used in the entire Canon range – is enough to make 1,100 or 1,600 photos without flash.
The fact of having an optical viewfinder saves battery. It also has a Live View Live View screen. With a USB cable or HDMI can send images to a PC or MAC screen. These ports are hidden in a panel.
The EOS 60D users will find themselves doing photos that are not expected, since the camera allows you to find the perfect angle and take photography to a higher level.
An amateur photographer savor the 18-megapixel sensor that takes pictures that can be printed at larger sizes, and enjoy the confidence that the modes are automatic when do the job which, despite being automatic, can capture images completely different.
Folding Screen and Full HD video capture make this camera a versatile companion that will suggest new and distinctive approaches to any situation.
