Despite the blogs and trade publications do not speak anything other than tablet recently, the phenomenon is actually less comprehensive than expected. According to estimates from In-Stat, only three regions in particular North America, Asia Pacific and Western Europe will be responsible for the movement of 91% of all tablets in 2015.
This does not mean that there is no future for manufacturers of tablets, but that the market differs greatly from area to area. Sales opportunities, of course, are adopted in markets already well defined. Among other details revealed by In-Stat:
- with over 129 billion units, portable media players represent the greatest amount of terminal units delivered in 2010;
- The market for e-reader will remain strong mainly in North America with 58% of e-readers delivered by 2015;
- terminals Personal Navigation Device (PND) will decline in 2012;
- the delivery of handheld gaming will grow by 20% next year as a result of the launch of the Nintendo 3DS.
