Most HTC phones sold in the first quarter were based on Android
HTC has announced its Q1 results, revealing record revenues and record net profits.
The Taiwanese company sold 9.7 million handsets in the quarter – 192% on Q1 201, and 6% more than in the previous quarter (Q4 2010). This brought the total of income beyond NT $ 104,160,000,000 (approximately U.S. $ 3.6 billion) and net profit of NT $ 14,830 million (about $ 518 million).
Most HTC phones sold in Q1 were based on Android. The company said that ¨the new products launched in Q1 (Inspire 4G, Thunderbolt, EVO Shift 4G, Desire S, Incredible S) met with strong customer demand¨.
With the new smart phones (including the Sensation), HTC expects to sell at least 11 million handsets in the second quarter. The Taiwanese company will also launch its new tablet (HTC Flyer) this quarter. Lets see how many million units to sell.
