After a long absence, iRiver has returned to the field of media players with the launch of iRiver P8 in Russia.
This 5-inch player is focused on video and can play high definition video in either 800 × 480 on its own screen or in native resolution via HDMI output. iRiver P8 media player support MP3, WMA, OGG, APE, FLAC, WAV, AVI, XviD, WMV, MKV, JPG, BMP, PNG, GIF, and TXT file formats.
iRiver has refreshed its interface, is similar to Mac OS X, which has both a “dock” of common tasks, as well as widgets for accessing the playback controls, photos, and other parts of the interface.
His size helps to give 9 hours continuous video and 40 hours of music. As with most hardware iRiver, supports a wide variety of video formats, audio, photo compression, FM radio and voice memo recording .
The P8 comes in versions with 8 GB or 16 GB of internal storage, though it has a micro SDHC slot for up to 32GB more . The Russian site does not mention prices, and is not yet known whether this device will reach other markets.
