Far Eastern therapies have a long tradition. The most popular are Ayurveda and traditional Chinese medicine.
The Asian region has enjoyed a cultural history and ethnic diversity, which may seem to Europeans sometimes exotic and strange. But in this long history is all Asian strains of a common culture, deeply rooted holistic medicine. This means that there is not only the traditional Chinese medicine, but others as well-established and popular Eastern therapies and healing practices.
Roots of Asian medicine
The origins of oriental therapies can be traced back to three cultures to which the Indian, Tibetan and Chinese medicine. The earliest known writings, dealing with the Ayurvedic medical theory originate from India, and about 3000 years old. However, it is believed that Ayurveda on one, at least 5,000 years is based recent origin. Around the same time, developed the Tibetan medicine, it arises from an archaic faith culture, shamanistic Bon religion. It combines with the cultural exchange at that time several lessons. The most recent form one of the healing therapies, the traditional Chinese medicine (TCM), its history includes a period of about 2000 years ago.
Principles of traditional Chinese medicine
The basis of Oriental medicine is the understanding of nature in relation to the body. The two form a unit, such as the famous Yin-Yang symbol depicts the TCM. Since both are contradictory, forms a voltage between them, the Qi that keeps both parties in motion. This symbol implies the principle of TCM, because only the balance between them keeps them going. It is quite different to the Ayurveda, not the opposition, but the line is the moving force, which is why therapies aimed at the body by the things that it is related to harmonize. This will determine which of the three ayurvedic doshas (temperaments) is prevalent, and brings them into balance. The aim is that all three doshas are equally strong.
Mixture of cultures
Tibetan medicine combines parts of Ayurveda and TCM, and the Arabic Unani school. The focus here is on the multi-component mixtures, they should create a balance between effectiveness and side effects. This means that dosage and effect of the drug to animate the body itself to act. The effect can by residents of the Western Hemisphere, or sometimes fail to turn out the opposite, because the gene constellation of the inhabitants of Asia does not match and the metabolism of different works.
