Samsung has announced with pride that has sold over 3 million units worldwide (from its initial release) of its Smartphone, Galaxy S II . Therefore, the new S II has become the best selling smartphone in the history of the company. The previous record was held by the first Galaxy S (i9000), which received 3 million units sold in 85 days (in 2010).
At current rates, a Galaxy S II is sold every 1.5 seconds – that is, about 57,000 devices per day.
With the upcoming launch of the Galaxy in Canada and the U.S., more than one is expecting to see a little more than a million units sold quickly.
Gingerbread running under Android 2.3, the Galaxy S II is one of the Smartphones thinner (8.5 mm) and, as you probably know, provides an impressive array of features, including a Super Screen WVGA AMOLED Plus, dual-core processor and recording 1080p video.
