Sony Ericsson tries to revive the banner of Sony, after the company announced a large loss of profits this year, in various sections of his interests. To stimulate the interest of smartphone users, Sony Ericsson has recently made it known which will receive the Android smartphone operating system upgrade to Android 4.0 Ice Cream Sandwich. The code has already been sent by Google and now Sony Ericsson is working to be able to upgrade its flagship smartphone.
The company claimed that the update to Android 4.0 will be available between March and May and will be implemented in two phases: the first is to upgrade the devices between March and April, which includes the Xperia smartphone:
- Xperia Arcs S
- Xperia Neo V
- Xperia Ray
To these are added between April and May:
- Xperia Arc
- Xperia Play
- Xperia Neo
- Xperia Mini
- Xperia Mini Pro
- Active Xperia
Sony Ericsson has also announced that not all devices of the same model will receive the update at the same time. Since the upgrade to Android 4.0 also depends on the telephone service provider, being an update OTA (Over-the-air, or automatically without the need to move the installation files to your smartphone), the timing is marked by the operators who will have the last word. The update will be via 3G to Wi-Fi on or through tethered option. Finally, Sony Ericsson has promised to keep them informed on the progress of work through a series of videos documenting their work.
Although still missing a lot of time in March, all owners of Xperia smartphones are fortunate to know when Android Ice Cream Sandwich will be available, a fortune that almost no other owner of Android smartphones can claim.
