Unfortunately, the overweight and obesity are increasing. This is a very complicated situation because it puts the health of these children at risk into adulthood. Therefore, solutions are sometimes desperate for children to lose weight, such as high protein diets, but the question is “are these they really healthy for them?”. A good question that deserves to be answered by the welfare children.
The high protein diets can help you lose weight quickly, but may also endanger the health of both adults and children. For this reason, it’s important to know whether or not the protein diets are unhealthy for children.
One of the major adverse effects that have protein diets on adults is their effect on the kidney. Unfortunately children who perform a high protein diet in an effort to control overweight, may also suffer kidney damage.
The kidney is a debugger organ, which is responsible for purifying the blood and remove toxins from the body. When this body has an overload protein it begins to malfunction, and there are a series of damaging consequences such as:
Increase in elimination of proteins in urine.
Increased likelihood of developing kidney stones, which is reflected in hypercalciuria, and urinary pH hipocitroaturia acid.
If these effects are maintained over time, it can lead to chronic renal failure and various degrees of renal impairment.
All these organic processes not only occur in the adult who is carrying out a high protein diet, but also in children. Even under normal conditions, the children are exposed to a high protein intake.
As a conclusion you can say that a high protein diet in childhood is not healthy for different reasons. On the one hand, it can lead to uncertain future in children with normal weight and on the other hand, once installed the obesity, diet does not help you lose weight, not only as an unbalanced diet, but the kidney damage that may result.
If you have a young child be sure to have a balanced diet and if your child is overweight must meet a physician and a nutritionist who design a proper diet for his age, which includes all the nutrients he needs at this stage of their life.
It is important for the health of children, as this will depend on their health later in life.
