Video games to voice commands: a first test

The video games to make their voice merry way. Pending a future shaped KINECTS voice recognition one discovers a video game very simple but promising for the future of this type of game.

The video game we’re talking about is “PewPewPewPewPewPewPewPewPew”. Obviously too busy with voice control, the developers of this video game could not get any better than this goofy name. That said, the name is very revealing. Pew! is somehow the equivalent of English onomatopoeia “Bang!” for a shot.

The game is played with two on Xbox Live Indie and is like "Shoot 'em up." To control the game, no need to handle or motion sensor, it takes two microphones and nothing else. To get a player says "Pew!" simply. The other microphone is used to create the sounds of avatar jetpack.

Admittedly, “PewPewPewPewPewPewPewPewPew” is not what is best in terms of video game but it may have the merit of being among the forerunners of voice-controlled games in the future.
