Wikipedia Raises USD 20 Million
Wikipedia has to receive donations $ 20 million (approximately EUR 15 million) around Christmas time. According to press officer Jimmy Wales it was the most successful fundraising in the history of the nonprofit Wikimedia Foundation, mother of the online encyclopedia Wikipedia.
“The number of donors has increased tenfold since 2008, while revenues have increased from 4.5 to 20 million dollars,” Wales wrote in a blog post.
