By default, Windows 7 takes up a huge area for the task bar. On large monitors is not a problem, but it is close to netbooks. But that can be changed easily.

To see the shadows and disk usage of your system’s volumes, type vssadmin list shadowstorage.

You can view the current state of storage as well as modify it. The command to reduce the maximum storage space for drive C: to 6GB is as follows:

vssadmin resize shadowstorage /on=C: /for=C: /maxsize=6GB

Don’t practice this command on the hard disk where important data exist. Mis-commanding may lose your data.

System Restore

System Restore is a useful tool when installing a program or updating some features leads to malfunctions. But other programs are affected by the restore.

Expand Windows Firewall

Windows 7 comes with a firewall, the additional solutions unnecessary. However, it only monitors incoming connections and ignore packets that are sent from your computer to the Internet.
