After launching the 3DS last month, Nintendo has announced the arrival in 2012 of a new family console, Wii Second Generation.
As it announced the results down, the Japanese manufacturer has issued a brief statement this morning indicating that it would present the successor to the Wii at the Electronic Entertainment Expo (E3), the annual video game in Los Angeles held from 7 to 9 June 2011.
Nintendo says that all the features of the Wii 2 will be unveiled on this occasion. However, press reports have some details – leaking or speculation?
With high definition, the new console family would be more powerful and would work with a new type of controller close touch screens. The CEO of Nintendo, Satoru Iwata, simply stated that the console would provide “a new way of playing at home.”
The company states that it has sold over 86 million Wii since its launch in 2006. The console has been a great success, but like the DS, its sales have declined in the last fiscal year. A month ago, Nintendo released the 3DS, which can play games in 3D without special glasses.
